Anya Taylor-Joy

Allya Taylor Joy was born 16 April 1997 in Miami Florida. She is half English mixed with Spanish her parents are Dennis Alan Taylor a former banker, and Jennifer Marina Joy a psychologist. The father of her is Argentine, of Scottish-English heritage. Her mother hails from Spanish as well as English origin. Taylor-Joy is one of the five children. Four of them were born to Taylor's father's previous marriage. They was within Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy aged 6 and after which they moved to the Victoria district of London. Taylor-Joy says the move to London was traumatizing and she did not take the time to learn English so that she could avoid returning to Argentina. Hill House, a school located in the same area as Northlands was required to enroll her. She then went to Queen's Gate School in London in which she attended ballet classes as well as participated in the drama department. When she was 16 she left school in order to take on a full-time job in acting. Taylor-Joy always knew she wanted to become an actor. She was given a chance by Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management and was offered a job as a model.
