Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz (born January 10, 1993) popularly referred to as Rauw Alejandro, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He is known as "the King of Modern Reggaeton"[2][3and is part of "the new generation" of Puerto Rican urban artists. The debut album, Afrodisiaco, was released in November of the year 2020. The album he followed with his second studio album, Vice Versa, released in June 2021, featured the lead track "Todo de Ti". From 12 nominations, he was awarded two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Olasio Ruiz was conceived in San Juan (Puerto Rico) on the 10th January 1993. His family was born in Carolina and Canovanas. The father of Alejandro was a guitarist Raul Ocasio Ruiz, and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz (backing vocalist) gave him a wide range of his musical influences, including Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Chris Brown. Six years ago, Alejandro and his father resided in the continental United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where he was influenced by the R&B and dancehall genres. Alejandro and Anuel, a fellow Puerto Rican rapper, were close friends from childhood. They both attended the same high school and took part in classes. When they were children, Alejandro competed in school talent shows as he had an intense love for dancing. After graduation from high school Alejandro was enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico. From the age of 6 to the age of 20, he played soccer, but then he decided to quit because he "could not perform as he was expected to" and was injured when he was 20. To be a scout for the Premier Development League (PDL) and then move to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro is renowned for his Latin R&B, Latin Reggaeton and rhythmic pop music. Billboard claimed that his music has "set him apart" from the burgeoning group of pop-leaning Reggaetoneros. Presley as well as Jackson were influential in the beginning.
